To The Body is where we house our creative endeavors. In other words, this is the stuff that we wanted to make for fun and that features our editorial voice. Here you will find photo essays, video series, podcasts, and everything in between. Everything found on To The Body features our editorial voice unless otherwise specified.

“To the Body” is a reference to Stephen King’s short story The Body, which Rob Reiner would eventually adapt into everybody’s second favorite Corey Feldman movie, Stand By Me. The conceit is that, while the story is ultimately about some kids who are searching for a corpse, all of the most interesting stuff happens on their way to the body. For a short time, we had considered the name “To the Forum,” as in “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” but we are are better versed in Stephen King than we are mid 20th Century musical theater, and also it serves as a sly nod to our Maine roots.
