Meet the Knack Factory Intern, Winter/Spring 2016 edition

How do you introduce yourself at parties?

*kicks door open* "I'M HERE!"
Actually, I would look for people wearing Blundstones or Toad & Co. and say "Hi, I'm Chelsea."

What draws you to media production?

I love the fact that it can take so many different forms and it usually involves a team of creatives. I consider myself a jack of many trades, which I used to think was a negative thing. But media production embraces both of my main interests — graphic design and photography — and it provides the opportunity to collaborate and grow with a team.

If you could give advice to a younger you, what would it be?

Acknowledging and accepting fear doesn't mean you're letting it stop you.
Run toward the roar.

What sorts of things have you worked on in the past?

Last year, I designed a poster for Savor, a movement production created by my two amazing brothers. I've created logo designs for a few small businesses in central Maine. I also photograph weddings. Right now, I'm getting in to '50s-style illustration and an embarrassing pleasure of mine is drawing cartoons of my mom's cat, Jazzy.

What’s your favorite movie?

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

What have you been listening to lately?

Hundred Waters' The Moon Rang Like a Bell, and Jose Gonzalez's Vestiges & Claws. I also love listening to Design Matters with Debbie Millman.

If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you would do?

Pay the college debt of my relatives and friends.

Truth or Dare?

Almost always truth. It's a good rule to live by.
